
About the TEFMA Leadership Program
Framework
A combination of established leadership theory, contemporary case studies and highly regarded instrumentation will form the basis of the framework. The content and approach of this program will be supported by a team of presenters with a vast array of experience working with the leadership of some of Australasia’s biggest public and private sector organisations.

Program Leader
Eugene Fernandez
Eugene has worked as a Program Director and has consulted for Australia-Asia’s Leading Business Schools,(Melbourne Business School, The Australian Graduate School of Management, Australian Institute of Management and the Royal Institute of Public Administration) designing and running their leadership programs and organisational interventions. Eugene has has also lead the TEFMA Leadership Development Program for the last ten years.
He has extensive experience in Leadership Development, Organisational Change and Strategy, Team Development and Action Learning. Some of his clients include: Aldi, Bunnings, Cerebos, SunMicrosystems, Masterfoods, BHP Billiton, Thomas Cook, Carlton United Breweries, TAFE, SRA, Roche, State Revenue, Reserve Bank of Australia, Sun Alliance, MMI,CSIRO, Viking, Sinclair Knight Merz and various universities and community organisations.
Eugene is Currently completing his Doctoral studies, he has a Master of Philosophy majoring in Organisational Change & Strategy with distinction , Diplomas in Training and Business and Certificates in Training, Development and Personnel Management. He is accredited in the TMI, MBTI, Belbin, FiroB, CPI, Conflict Dynamics, Birkman, Hogan,Benchmarks, PSI, Spiral Dynamics, Learning Styles and is also a Qualified Coach and Workplace Mediator.
Program Presenters
Terri Mandler
Prior to establishing her own consultancy, Paradigme, Terri was the MBS Director of Coaching where she established the coaching function and was responsible for taking the offer to market.
As a coach, Terri has over 3,000 hours personal coaching experience with senior and executive level clients in the areas change management, career transition, leadership, communication and influencing.
Terri has a background in strategic planning and consultation, leadership development, 360 feedback methodologies, and change leadership. She has worked with senior management in the delivery of best practice change, including restructure processes, mergers and takeovers in the subsequent people processes that enable their achievement.
Terri’s clients have included BHP Billiton, NAB, ANZ, National Australia Bank, OneSteel, AXA, Aviva, Telstra, Mobil, BP, Shell, Pasminco, Ansett, Mayne, Colonial First State Property Management, QBE, AMP Banking.
Paul Merton
Over the past twenty years, Paul has established himself as a highly regarded training professional to a broad range of industries; in both the private and public sectors. He has detailed knowledge of training and development (particularly in project management), having designed and delivered a wide range of training interventions to all levels of organisations; including operational and service delivery staff, first line supervisors and team leaders, senior supervisors and managers, and professional staff engaged in specialist functions.
Paul’s project management training covers all aspects of managing projects, including the following:
Managing project scope, plan and control; Managing PMBOK function; Exercising proper project governance and Stakeholder communication and management.
His project management clients include the following, Melbourne Business School, The Moreland Group, Deakin University, Country Fire Authority – Victoria and Telstra
Mac Hay
Mac Hay is an organisational development consultant specialising in leadership development, executive coaching, team effectiveness and facilitation.
Mac has held senior Human Resource management positions in the oil and chemical industries and has consulted extensively at the senior management level in both public and private sector organisations. Mac is passionate about developing current and future leaders and has extensive experience in assessment, mentoring, coaching and providing challenging feedback to executives.
Mac directs a number of the leadership programs at the Melbourne Business School and has delivered leadership and management development programs in Australia, PNG, Fiji and the United Kingdom. Mac is a registered psychologist and is accredited in an extensive range of diagnostic instruments. Mac has a BA (Hons) in Psychology from Melbourne University.
Terr Gaven
Terry Gaven is the Principal of Zandorl Consulting, a business he formed in 2005. His background is in corporate management, with an emphasis on Finance and Administration. Industry experience includes management education, hospitality, natural resource distribution, transport and tourism.
Prior to his present consulting/training role, Terry was Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary of the Mt Eliza Business School. He previously held senior financial management positions with various public and private sector organisations, including Finance Manager at Australian Airlines (now Qantas Airways).
Terry is a Fellow of CPA Australia, an Associate of the Institute of Corporate Managers, Secretaries and Administrators, an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and a Member of the Institute of Company Directors.
Terry brings to management and leadership development a wealth of experience gained over 20 years at senior executive level.
